We can't say thank you enough to everyone who came out for Karen Frimkess Wolff's show on June 16. It was a special day and we had a wonderful turnout at the Little Tokyo Galleria. Karen's installation, Dancing on Eggshells, delighted passersby and ShoeboxLA fans alike. Her unique and thoughtful work was an ideal fit for our space and we could not have asked for a more perfect finale to an exciting first year.
We've met so many great people over the past few months and we're so glad so many of you "got"
what we set out to do. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the
businesses and organizations who've hosted us. We truly could not have
done this without you.
ShoeboxLA began in September of 2011 to give professional artists a fun and unique exhibition opportunity. We had the pleasure to observe and interact with truly talented artists. Each one helped define our gallery this past year and we are grateful for their contributions:

Anita Bunn
Michael Blasi
Amparo Jelsma

ShoeboxLA concludes its inaugural season with Los Angeles artist Karen
Frimkess Wolff. Wolff’s presentation, Dancing on Eggshells, traverses
gracefully and joyfully through precarious times and fragile circumstances, while
stepping triumphantly onto beds of roses and ultimately into safety. Wolff, a Los Angeles native, has been exhibiting her
sculpture, drawings and installations for over 40 years. She received her BA in Painting and Drawing
from UCLA and her MA in Art History from Cal State Northridge.
ShoeboxLA is pleased to be returning to the Little Tokyo
Galleria, the location for our first show in September of 2011.
(Little Tokyo Galleria is
easily accessible via the Metro Gold and Red lines, with plenty of street and free,
one hour, on-site parking.)
